Instrument clinics

As part of the educational mission of the Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival, we are expanding the traditional schedule to include instrument masterclasses with the Wind, Brass, and Percussion faculty from the University of Illinois School of Music. During SuperState on Saturday, May 4, our faculty members will provide instrument clinics between 1–1:45pm in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. We hope you will encourage your students to attend.

Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion Clinics
Jonathan Keeble, flute
John Dee, oboe
Iura de Rezende and Janice Minor, clarinet
Ben Roidl-Ward, bassoon
al Fine Quartet, saxophone
Bernhard Scully, horn
National Trumpet Competition Ensemble, trumpet
Scott Tegge, tuba/euphonium/trombone
William Moersch and Ricardo Flores, percussion

These sessions will focus on instrument technique, warm-up suggestions, demonstrations, etc., and give students the opportunity to ask questions and interact with our faculty members and other band students. Students will not need instruments to participate.

If your SuperState performance is on Friday, May 3, you and your students are welcome to return to campus for these clinics. Directors do not need to be present if students want to return on their own or with family members.
